LINA 1.00beta1 supports the following Linux distributions:
Open a terminal window and cd to the directory where you downloaded the LINA installer. If you have downloaded the installer via a web browser, you must first make it executable by typing: chmod 777 LINA-for-unix-type-version-x86-32.sh Then type the following at the command line: sudo ./LINA-for-unix-type-version-x86-32.sh
Open this LINA disk by double-clicking on it and open the LINA.pkg file by double-clicking on it. It will ask to run a program to determine if the LINA software can be installed. Please say “yes” and Allow it to “Continue” by clicking the “Continue” button. Click through the resulting install screens. Choosing the default responses should work fine.
The installer may appear to freeze during various steps of the process. We will address the accuracy of the progress bars in the next release. The duration of the installation process varies with the speed, memory availability and internet connection speed of your system. Once the Installer has completed you are ready to install a LINA application.
You will need an internet connection, approximately 250 MB of disk space, and Administrator privileges on the system where you want to install LINA.
If you have a previous installation of LINA it must be removed before you can proceed. See "Uninstalling LINA" for complete removal instructions.
Before installing LINA 1.00beta1 on Linux, you MUST disable SE Linux. This primarily affects Fedora installs and will not be necessary in the next LINA release. Here is how to disable it using the SELinux configuration file:http://www.crypt.gen.nz/selinux/disable_selinux.html
On SLES and OpenSUSE, you will need to edit the sudoers file using /usr/sbin/visudo, and add "!" in front of env_reset and in front of always_set_home.
On Ubuntu, you must set a root password before installing LINA
